Iran short ‘Malakout’ to vie at Polish Animator

Iranian short film ‘Malakout’ has been slated to attend the Animator: International Animated Film Festival in Poland.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the short flick will be in competition at the 13th edition of the Polish film event.

“The angle of death has come to reap the life of a pianist’s wife. The man, however, make a deal with the angle to give his hands to save his wife’s life”, reads a brief synopsis for the short.

The published tagline for ‘Malakout’ reads, “Music was his passion… Love was his masterpiece…”.

‘Malakout’ has already attended a number of film events, such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico, the Brooklyn Int’l Film Festival in the US, the Capital City Film Festival in the US and the Galactic Imaginarium Film Festival in Spain.

won awards, including the Special Mention Short award at the Silk Road International Film Festival in Ireland and the Best Animation award at the Black Country Horror Shorts Film Festival in the UK.

Launched in 2008, the International Animated Film Festival Animator is the biggest festival of animations in Poland.

The latest edition of the event is slated for October 3-9, 2020 in Poznan city in Poland.
